Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake

1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oats
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 stick margarine
2 lg. eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Pour boiling water over oats, let stand 10 minutes. Add sugars and oleo; stir until oleo melts. Add eggs, mix well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture. Mix well. Add 1/2 cup chips. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle rest of chips and nuts on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. (Do not use mixer.) Freezes well.
