Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

2 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Salt
1 c Butter or margarine, softened
1 c Granulated sugar
1 c Packed light brown sugar
2 ts Vanilla extract
2 Eggs
2 c Semisweet chocolate chips
1 c Quick-cooking oats

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and oats. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake in preheated 350 degree F. over for 8 to 11 minutes or untl golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
